London OpenStack Day

Wed, 22/06/2011

The one-day event will feature an overview of the technology for all audiences the first half of the day, followed by a technical deep-dive session in the afternoon.

OpenStack is a global collaboration of developers and cloud computing technologists producing the ubiquitous open source cloud operating system for public and private clouds. OpenStack currently consists of three core projects: OpenStack Compute (code-named Nova), a scalable compute provisioning engine, OpenStack Object Storage (code-named Swift), a fully distributed object store, and OpenStack Image Service (code-named Glance), to catalog and manage libraries of server images. Launched one year ago with source code contributions from Rackspace and NASA, the community has quickly grown to hundreds of contributing developers and more than 70 participating organizations.

ForLinux are currently evaluating OpenStack in order to provide support for a private cloud running the Openstack platform and will be attending the event in London.
